Ngorongoro Lions

 

We watched a pride of 12 lions prowl across the crater floor, past our land rovers, eying up an unsuspecting heard of cape buffalo.

 

THAT'S how close they got.

And though it's hard to see, there are the cape buffaloes, and up on the hill are the lions surrounding for the kill.

After 45 minutes of waiting for the kill to happen, 11 of the lions gave up and watched the solo one wishfully lick his chops.
